VA and DOD Partner to Expand Veterans’ Healthcare

Fort Campbell Army Hospital will partner in a collaborative healthcare initiative.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced a new healthcare partnership for veterans at the VA Clinic in the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital on the Fort Campbell Army Installation. The partnership will open up services offered through the hospital to veterans enrolled at the clinic, providing the hospital’s dental care, women’s health care, and intensive care to veterans around Tennessee and Kentucky.

“This partnership will help VA provide more access to care, more quickly to Tennessee and Kentucky Veterans,” said VA Under Secretary for Health Shereef Elnahal. “We are proud to work with [the Department of Defense] and the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital to deliver for our nation’s heroes — and meet their health care needs close to home.”

“We are leveraging every tool that we have at our disposal to expand health care access for veterans and address our aging infrastructure,” said VA Health and Operations Deputy Assistant Under Secretary Alfred Montoya. “It’s really about placing the care as close to the veteran as possible, and utilizing the Defense Department partnership arrangements that we have.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Dr. Elnahal to be discerning as he fulfills his role in the Veterans Affairs health system.
  • For Deputy Assistant Under Secretary Montoya as he oversees VA Health and Operations.
  • For VA and DOD medical professionals as they provide healthcare for current and former military personnel.
